According to question,

(our age) = 4 times (daughter's age)

y= 4x . . . (1)

and,

2 times (daughters age) + 20 yrs = (our age) +20 yrs

2(x +20) = y + 20

2x +40 = y +20

2x + 20 = y . . . (2)

putting value of y from equation (1) in equation (2)

2x + 20 = 4x

2x = 20

x = 10 years

Therefore our age is 40 years
