. I am giving you a 5.6 mL of sulfuric acid (98% w/w) in order to prepare this reagent
for your analysis. Now in order to prepare that you need to know about the number of
moles in the solution. The density of sulfuric acid is 1.84 g/mL. Thus, calculate the
number of moles and express the value in millimoles.

98% by weight of solution means 98g of H2SO4 is present in 100g of solution.
Volume of solution = mass of solution/density of solution
= 100g/(1.8 x 1000)g/L
Volume of solution = 1/18 L
Per cent H2 SO4 w/v of solution = molarity
= number of moles of H2 SO4 /volume of solution (in L)
Molarity = given mass of H2 SO4 /molar mass of H2 SO4 /volume of solution
Molarity = 98/98 / 1/18
= 18M
