I am in the supporting part of a debate. How can I win the debate if the topic is invention of plastic

I really think you can define the key points in the motion by defining invention and plastics, and you also give the reference of the information you provide and also involve statistics in what you say to show that you are really sure of what you say. And you  can also try to convince the audience to support your side.
