We have,

  • Principal = 256
  • Time = 1 year
  • Rate = 100%, as it is compounded quaterly rate = 100/4 = 25%

So, the compound interest will be;

= C.I = p {( 1 + \dfrac{r}{100})}^{4 × n} - p

= C.I =256 ×  {( 1 + \dfrac{25}{100})}^{4 } - 256

= C.I = 256 ×  {(  \dfrac{125}{100})}^{4 } - 256

= C.l = 256 ×  {(  \dfrac{5}{4})}^{4 } - 256

= C.l = 256 × 625/ 256 - 256

= C.l = 625 - 256

= C.I = 369

Thus, the interest when compounded quaterly will be Rs.369.
