x+1 = 0 , then
x = -1
x - 1/2 = 0, then
x = 1/2
just sifting no. so that we can get the value of x
x = -1
x - 1/2 = 0, then
x = 1/2
just sifting no. so that we can get the value of x

Heya,
x+1 is converted to p(-1) and x-1/2 is converted to p (1/2) by using the formula -b/a where b= the constant and second term( here 1 and -1/2) and a= coefficient of variable term(here 1 as x has no coefficient)
1. x+1 so it is p(-1) and -1 is substituted in place of x and p value is found.
2. Similarly x-1/2 so it is p ( -(-1/2) = p(1/2) and this 1/2 is substituted in place of x and p value is found.
Hope it helps u.......
