The answer is - A tribal scholar.

Tribal Studies and Research have gained importance in the recent times. For example, the Institute of Tribal Studies has been set up at the Himachal Pradesh University. It offers a PG Diploma in Tribal Studies. It has conducted 14 research studies and brought out a book entitled Tribal Development in Himachal Pradesh.

There are Universities which offer a Ph.D. in Tribal Studies.

Tribal studies are no longer confined to the domain of Anthropologists. Almost all disciplines have shown interest in tribal studies. The frontiers of tribal studies have expanded and analytical tools of disciplines have been applied to them.
