                  $x+\frac{7}{4} x=110$  

                    $\frac{4x+7x}{4} =110$

                       $11x=110$×$4$

           so,           $x=40$        (3)

Step 6: substitute the value of x from equation (3) in equation (2). We get,

                   $40+y=110$

                           $y=110-40$

                           $y=70$

Hence, the present age of son Ram is 40 years and present age of his father Raman is 70.
