I am so confused about infinitive and gerund.

Infinitive means root words. e.g. to go And Gerund form means v1 + ing e.g. go+ing = going.

nothing to confuse..
keep in mind only that..
in infinitive we use ti+1st form of verb...always in every tense..
in gerund we use ing form of verb as noun..
or in which place where ing form of verb don't change according to tense...
