6. What are the respiratory diseases? Give some examples.
Answers
- Name the end products of respiration.
Ans-Both carbon dioxide and water.
explanation
Respiration is a process of production of energy in the form ATP by the oxidation of simple sugar i.e., glucose. Glucose is produced in cells by the breakdown of more complex carbohydrates. This glucose then converted into the 3 carbon compound i.e., pyruvate in the cytoplasm of the cell which then enters into the mitochondria where respiration takes place and is called as cellular respiration.
2.Write in short about the process of respiration.
Ans- Respiration is the biochemical process in which the cells of an organism obtain energy by combining oxygen and glucose, resulting in the release of carbon dioxide, water, and ATP (the currency of energy in cells).
3.Why do body cells require oxygen?
Ans- Our body needs oxygen to obtain energy to fuel all our living processes. Carbon dioxide is a waste product of that process. The respiratory system, with its conduction and respiratory zones, brings air from the environment to the lungs and facilitates gas exchange both in the lungs and within the cells.
4.What is the importance of respiration
Ans-
For human
The main purpose of respiration is to provide oxygen to the cells at a rate adequate to satisfy their metabolic needs. This involves transport of oxygen from the lung to the tissues by means of the circulation of blood.
trees
Respiration is essential for survival of living organisms. It releases energy from the food. The oxygen we inhale is used to breakdown glucose into carbon dioxide and water. Energy is released in the process.
6.What are the respiratory diseases?
Ans-
Respiratory diseases may be caused by infection, by smoking tobacco, or by breathing in secondhand tobacco smoke, radon, asbestos, or other forms of air pollution.
Give some examples.
Respiratory diseases include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, and lung cancer.
5.Draw the picture of human respiratory system and label its different parts?
Ans-
If different parts name are not shown
Then
serially
Left side
Nasal cavity
mouth
Epiglottis
glottis
ribs
Bronchus
Bronchiole
Alveolus
Right side
Pharynx
Larynx
Rings of cartilage
Trachea
Answer:
1) water and Corbin dioxide.
2)the main process of respiration is to provide
the oxygen to the cells at a rate adequate to satisfy their metabolic needs.this involves transport of oxygen from lungs to the tissues by means of circulation of blood.
3) oxygen gives energy to perform their metabolic activities and more energy is stored in ATP.
4)respiration is important bcoz it produces energy needed to cells.
6)aasthma,copd,pneumonia,lung cancer.there are two types- infectious and chronic.
