The criteria depend on the type of files

if u want to find a excel fil search all the files in ms excel file menu

if uwant to find docs.  then search on ms word

and so on

but u can search all the files of any extension on u device in the search box in start menu

or just  type

%temp%

in the search box it will open a dialog box in which u can see all the files folders  recently opened files  chache files etc.

u can also use cmd (for win 7 and later) or powershell( win 8 and above )

2.click on the search option and name the specific file name that you want to open.
