  1.  Long about 1550 miles.They varies from 400 km in kashmir to 150 km in Arunachal pradesh.
  2.  Their are 3 parallel ranges  in its longitudinal extent. First Great or lesser Himalayas or the Himadri. Second Himachal or Lesser Himalaya. Third Shivaliks.
