Answer:

1. Some fibres are called as synthetic fibers because these are manmade fibers prepared by using chemicals. These are made of small units that join together to form long chains. Some of the examples of synthetic fibres are nylon, rayon, acrylic, polyester etc.

2. Plastics are a group of materials, either synthetic or naturally occurring, that may be shaped when soft and then hardened to retain the given shape. Plastics are polymers. A polymer is a substance made of many repeating units.

3. It can be easily woven down like natural silk and can be dyed in diverse vibrant colours. It is a good moisture absorbent and comfortable to wear. It is quite soft to skin with restrained dry strength. It does not possess the property of resiliency due to which they are easily prone to get wrinkles.

4. It is rigid, brittle, relatively hard and has excellent gamma radiation resistance, good electrical properties but has poor chemical and UV resistance.

5. The two key categories of plastic are thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics. Examples include Polypropylene and Polystyrene.
