Let me explain :

once in a year ..    we get 1 new year in every year .. 
    [take odd number out.. here is only 1 ] (once)

Twice in a month ..   we get 4 new weeks in a month ..
   [4 weeks means 1,2,3,4 .. take odd number out 1,3 ] (twice)

Four Times in a week ..   we get 7 new days in every weeks ..
   [7 days means 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 .. take odd number out 1,3,5,7 ] (four times)

Six Times in a day ..   we get 12 new hours in every day ..
   [12 hours means 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12  .. take odd number   out                   1,3,5,7,9,11 ] (six times)
