kilos lost = 20-16=4.
money wasted = 4(30)
percentage lost = money wasted/total amount of 20 kg multiplied by 100

=
(4 \times 30 \div 600 ) \times 100
20 percent lost

I bought 20 kg mango out of which 16kg were fine and rest were rotten. The loss percentage is 20 %

Solution:

Given that,

I bought 20 kg mango out of which 16kg were fine and rest were rotten

Rotten = 20 - 16 = 4 kg

I bought them for RS 30 per kg

loss = rotten = 4 x 30 = Rs 120

Total cost of 20 kg mangos = 20 x 30 = Rs 600

Find loss percentage:

Loss\ percentage = \frac{loss}{cost} \times 100\\\\Loss\ percentage = \frac{120}{600} \times 100\\\\Loss\ percentage = 20 \%

Thus the loss percentage is 20 %
