Answer:

CP of the washing machine (given) = Rs 7500

extra money needed for cortage = Rs 500

Therefor, total CP = Rs (7500+500) = Rs 8000

SP of the washing machine (given) = Rs 6000

Loss = Rs (6000-8000) = Rs 2000

Loss % = SP × 100/CP

=Rs 2000× 100/8000

= 25%

Given: I bought a washing machine for rupees 7500 and spent rupees 500 on its cottage. due to some circumstances, I was compelled to sell it for rupees 6000.

To find: We have to find the loss percentage.

Solution:

The loss percentage can be determined by the following way-

The buying price of the washing machine is 7500.

The spent of its cottage is 500.

So, the total cost price of the washing machine is 7500+500=8000 rupees.

The selling price of the washing machine is 6000 rupees.

So, its loss percentage is as follows-

 \frac{8000 - 6000}{8000}  \times 100 \\  \frac{2000}{8000}  \times 100 \\  = 25

The loss on the washing machine is 25%.
