We have,

px² - x + 1 = 0

Here,  

a = p and

b= -1

Now,

Sum of zeros = -b/a

-2 = -(-1)/p

⇒ (-2)p = 1

p = -1/2

Hence, the value of p in the given polynomial is (-1/2).
