Number of moles of acetic acid are 0.367 moles and no. of molecules are  2.21 × 10^{23} .

Step by step explanation:

  • Calculation of no. of moles of Acetic acid

For the calculation of no. of moles we have the formula;

N = \frac{W}{M}

N stands for No. of moles, W stands for given mass of solute and M for Molar mass of solute .

In this question we are given the W = 22 g and we know the Molar mass of Acetic acid , M = 60 g/mol

By putting required data in above formula we get No. of moles as,

N=\frac{22}{60}

N = 0.3667 moles.

  • Calculation of No. of molecules of Acetic acid

No. of molecules can be calculated by simply multiplying No. of moles by Avogadro number (Na) which is 6.022 × 10^{23}  mol^{-1}

No. of molecules of acetic acid = N ×  6.022 × 10^{23}  mol^{-1}

                                                   =  0.3667*6.022* 10^{23}

Then we get 2.208 × 10^{23}  no. of molecules of acetic acid are there in solution.
