Explanation:

An ideal citizen like Mahatma Gandhi

I would like to model myself on our ever affectionate Bapu, as Mahatma Gandhi, our Father of Our Nation is called. The life of Bapuji is itself an example for all of us to follow.

The first virtue that I am trying to emulate is Truth. Bapuji always emphasized on speaking the truth. I realize that truth and integrity are virtues that will always stand one in good stead. Bapuji’s “My Experiments with Truth" is a book we all should read.

Other virtues that I would like to emulate are his patriotism and his love for the downtrodden. Bapuji always was a selfless person. He always wanted to help the poor and the weak people in society.

I would like to follow this and help the needy. I would like to devote myself to the selfless service for the people even while I pursue my career.

Another virtue worth following is his bravery, confidence, and conviction. I am very sure that if I were to follow at least half of all these qualities, I am sure I can be a good citizen of our country.
