Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in the subcontinent and died in January 30, 1948 as he was assassination in Delhi. He was the voice of Indians in the subcontinent. When British got hold of India Hindus were oppressed socially, politically and educationally. He stood against them and started Quit India movement peacefully. He advocated the Hindus to freedom from slavery.
To become an ideal citizen like him takes great effort, valor and strength to stand against anything that threatens to harm India's freedom. He always wanted Hindus to live together in harmony to do so an ideal citizen should have the patience and tolerance to put his duties to his country first even before his kin.
By being kind to our fellow mwn we could become the ideal citizen as mahatma Gandhi wanted by. Gandhiji urged citizens to respect the spirit of the law even if it meant violating some unjust laws. I would likewise respect the law and become a law-abiding citizen. However, I would take a stand against oppressive laws. Oppressive laws are retrogressive, and they drag a country behind instead of propelling them forward. One of the oppressive laws I would fight against is the caste system in india, discrimination of the disabled and racism.
I can become an ideal citizen by paying my taxes on time. Taxes help the state to provide essential services like hospitals, food, roads and schools. I would give funds during the emergencies and volunteering to assist victims.
My aim would be peace, and I shall not leave the country in pieces. I shall love my neighbours, I shall do good to those who are against me and since mahatma Gandhi had a dream of making us great, morally, economically and socially and dream was peace, peace as a solution to everything and by doing this I could become a good citizen as mahatma Gandhi wanted by.
Only by doing such things of highest honor can one become an ideal citizen just like Mahatma Gandhi.
