Jack has written a number series given below: 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1...

If the series goes on like 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4... till it reaches the 99th term, then we know that 99 is not a multiple of 4 but nearest to that is 96 which is the 24th multiple of the number 4.

So, to find the answer, we have to multiply 24 with the sum of the constant series (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4) and add the product with 1.

According to the given statements above, we get

24 ( 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 ) + 1

= 24 ( 10 ) + 1

= 240 + 1

= 241

Answer:

Therefore, the sum of the first 99 terms of the series (i.e.1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1...) is 241.
