Answer:

3x + y = -5 ×5

2x + 5y= 1 × 1

now in order to make equation Similiar for Elimination method we multiply EQ 1 BY 5 AND EQ 2 BY 1

WE GET

15x + 5y = -25

2x + 5y = 1

- - -

=> 13x = -26

X = -2

putting value of X in eq 2

2 (-2) + 5y = 1

5y-4 = 1

5y =5

y = 1

HENCE

X = -2

Y = 1

Answer:

3x+y= -5

y= -5-3x.......(1)

2x+5y= 1......(2)

put (1) in (2)

2x+5(-5-3x)= 1

2x-25-15x= 1

-13x-25= 1

-13x= 26

x= -26/13

x= -2

y=(-5-3x)

y=-5-3×(-2)

y=-5+6

y=-1
