I CANT GET THIS ANSWER NOMATTER HOWMUCH I TRY $=RUPEES
A SHOPKEEPER EARNS A PROFIT OF $ 1 ON SELLING 1 PEN AND SUFFFERS A LOSS OF 30 PAISE ON SELLING 1 PENCIL. IN A PARTICULAR MONTH , HE INCURS A LOSS OF $ 5. IN THAT MONTH HE SOLD 40 PENS.HOW MANY PENCILS DID HE SELL IN THAT PARTICULAR MONTH.

1 Pen = 1 Rs profit

1 Pencil = 30 paise loss

loss incurred in the month = 5 Rs = 500 paise

sold 40 pens

= 40 Rs

= 4000 paise

For having 5 Rs loss over 40 Rs profit on sale of pens we need to have a 45 Rs loss on sale of pencils

so 45rs = 4500 paise

number of pencils = 4500/30

= 150 pencils
