Sequence of reactions

• When Methyl bromide reacts with Magnesium in presence of ether we will get Methylmagnesiumbromide (A) as the product.
• When product A undergo reaction with deutereated water we will get deutereated methane(B) .
• When B undergoes reaction with Chlorine on heating Cl replaces D in B thereby forming Chloromethane ( C).
• When C undergoes reaction with sodium and ether it forms ethane. (D)
• Thus the sequence of reactions forms the products A, B, C and D.
