Answer:

(i) The goal of carbohydrate digestion is to break down all disaccharides and complex carbohydrates into monosaccharides for absorption, although not all are completely absorbed in the small intestine (e.g., fiber). Digestion begins in the mouth with salivary amylase released during the process of chewing.

(ii) Once a protein source reaches your stomach, hydrochloric acid and enzymes called proteases break it down into smaller chains of amino acids. Amino acids are joined together by peptides, which are broken by proteases. From your stomach, these smaller chains of amino acids move into your small intestine.

(iii) Cells need a source of energy, they get thisenergy by breaking down food molecules to release, the stored chemical energy. This process is called 'cellular respiration'. The process is happens in all the cells in our body. Oxygen is used to oxidize food, main oxidized food is sugar(glucose).

(iv) Ruminant stomachs have four compartments: the rumen, the reticulum, the omasum and the abomasum. Rumen microbes ferment feed and produce volatile fatty acids, which is the cow's main energy source. ... In calves, the esophageal grooves allows milk to bypass the rumen and directly enter the abomasum.

(v) Amoeba takes its nutrition through a process called phagocytosis where the entire organism swallows the food it plans on eating up. The mode through which an amoeba engulfs nutrition is known as holozoic nutrition. It leads to the process of ingestion, digestion and egestion of food material.
