why did Helen the ghost made this comment?

John Hallock was shouting at Helen, and was saying things like- "You've lost me my wife, my happiness, my cook etc" Helen crisply told the narrator that he shouldn't be abusing or blaming her because he was the one responsible for the disastrous things occuring in a continues sequence. Also, she believed that despite her warning he had still used the ouija board, and this is what he ought to deserve.
After Lavinia wrote to the author, John, that she will communicate to him through her lawyer, out of frustration, John cries that he wished he was dead, to this, Helen said that's what he ought to be, and complaining about John's wife using the Ouija board, John scolded her, saying that she'd lost him his wife, home, happiness, cook etc, to this Helen says, "I didn't come her to be abused."
Hope it helps you!
