I don't know about my caste. When i ask my mother about our caste she said we are Rajput as my mother is from Chauhan family. But my caste will be of my father caste but he didn't tell me anything when i asked him. One day i went to my Grandfather and ask about our caste he told me that our 'got' means gotra is kashyap. Then he left me. When i questioned my father about our surname he told me that our surname is also kashyap. when i google it . It said kashyap are brahmin caste.I live in a village of punjab and people related to our caste called themselves rajput. so i am very confused. Can anyone tell me about kashyap caste? please don't write googled ans?!!! please​

gotra a name which tell us from which rishi's family we belong.Surname may be different ,gotra is seen by janam kundlis.In India different caste has different surname ,so it may be in your case
