First divide the equation by 2, to reduce co-efficient of x², if there isn't any no need to divide

i.e, (÷2) => x²-7x/2+3/2=0

Now we multiply -7x/2 by 1/2

=> x²-7x/4+3/2=0

Now we split the middle term

=> (x-7/4)²-(7/4)²+3/2=0

Transpose,

=> (x-7/4)²=(7/4)²-3/2

=> (x-7/4)²= 49/16 - 3/2

=> (x-7/4)²= 49/16 - 24/16

=> (x-7/4)²= 25/16

Taking square root both sides

x-7/4= ±√25/16

x-7/4=±5/4

x=±5/4 +7/4

so x can be

x=5/4+7/4=12/4=3

(or)

x= -5/4+7/4=2/4=1/2

x=3 or x=1/2
