Hey mate!

here is your answer:

area of shaded region= area of rectangle+area of semicircle.

area of rectangle=length × breadth=8×4=32cm^3

area of semicircle =1/2×pie×radius^2=1=1/2×22/7×(6-4)^2

=11/7×2^2

=11/7×4=44/7cm^2

now, area of shaded portion=32+44/7=224+44/7

=268/7=38.29cm^2(approx)

Hope it helped ^_^

aditibishtchunu: but is that a semi circle?
dishagaur748: yes the portion coming out of the rectangle is semicircle

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

AE=BC=4cm

l=8cm, b=4cm

Radius of semicircle=OP=6-4cm= 2cm

Area of total fig. = ar. of rectangle ABCE + area of semicircle EODP

= 8×4 + 22/7×2×2/2 cm^2

= 32 + 44/7

= 268/7

= 38.285 cm^2

= 38.29 cm^2
