(i)Draw a ray diagram to show passage of two rays of light through a rectangular slab of glass, when the angle of incidence is (a) zero in one case and (b) a little less than 90 ° in other case.

(ii) Prove that if a ray enters a rectangular glass slab obliquely and emerges from the opposite face, the emergent ray will be parallel to the incident ray.

Make a slit on a thick piece of paper and use it to cover the sunny side of a small mirror. Shine a torch on the slit.Light passing through the slit and reflecting off the mirror will form a Ray. Another source of Rays is a ray box.To make one remove the top of a cardboard box and cut a window on the bottom.Make a slit on a piece of chart paper and fix it over the window. Shine a torch on the slit to get a ray of Light.

Draw a straight line XY on a sheet of paper. Stand a mirror upright with its back surface on the line.Let a Ray of light from you ray source fall on the mirror. The ray will get reflected. Trace the incident ray and reflected ray and then remove the mirror.Produce the rays to meet XY at 0. Draw a normal to XY at 0 and measure the angle of incidence and Reflection with the help of protractor. Repeat this experiment a number of times. Each time rotate the seat with the mirror on it so that the incident ray falls at different angles on the mirror. You will find that in each case angle i =angle r.
