→ cost of each pot = Rs. (2x + 5)
then,
→ Total pottery * cost of each = Total cost
→ x * (2x + 5) = 168
→ 2x² + 5x - 168 = 0
→ 2x² -16x + 21x - 168 = 0
→ 2x(x - 8) + 21(x - 8) = 0
→ (x - 8)(2x + 21) = 0
→ x = 8 or (-21/2) .
since negative value is not possible.
therefore, total 8 pots were made that day .
