Given:

Mass of two substance 3kg and 5kg

Force = 15 N

To find:

Ratio of acceleration = ?

Solution:

Force = Mass × Acceleration

F = ma

Let a1 and a2 be the acceleration on mass 3 kg and 5 kg

 \\ a =  \dfrac{F}{m}  \\  \\ a1 =  \dfrac{15}{3}  \\  \\ a2 =  \dfrac{15}{5}  \\  \\

 \\  a1  =  \dfrac{15  }{3}  \\  \\  =  5 \:  \dfrac{m}{s {}^{2} }

 \\ a2 =  \dfrac{15}{5}  \\  \\  = 3 \dfrac{m}{s {}^{2} }

Required answer:

Therefore, acceleration of mass 3 kg is 5 m/s² and of 5 kg is 3 m/s²

Basic points:

# While solving such questions keep note on acceleration and force taken

# In block problems and pulley problems, we have to keep note on direction of acceleration and force

# Solve more such questions to get good hold on it
