(i)find the value of k if x - 1 is a factor of the polynomial 2 x cube +2 x square - 6 x + K (ii) find the remainder when x4 +3X cube- 4X + X is divided by (X + 2)

HEY THERE HERE IS YOUR ANSWER PLEASE HAVE A LOOK ON IT.

GIVEN : X-1 IS a factor....this means 1 is the zero of the given polynomial.

put x=1 and equate it to zero u will get answer...

2*1+2*1-6+k=0
k=2.

second part of ur question can be solved by remainder theorem......find the zero....that is -2...put -2 in the expression simply

-2^4+3(-2)^3-4*-2-2
16-24+8-2
-2 is the remainder.
