Sustainable energy is any energy that is renewable and produced by natural resources that do not cause any destruction in the environment.

Some five cities that use different forms of sustainable energy are:

Auckland in New Zealand

Nairobi in Kenya

Vancouver in Canada

Oslo in Norway

Seattle in USA

Some social factors influence the implementation of sustainable energy.

These factors are;

1.Weak structural systems

This is where the structural systems in some countries or cities is so weak to curb some practices that cause lack of use of sustainable energy sources.

2.Lack of awareness

Sustainable energy use education has to be taught to everyone in the society in order to achieve its objective .

All persons in the society have a responsibility to ensure use of sustainable energy .

3.Lack of efficient performance measures or benchmarks

This is where a country or  a city can visit another to see and learn how they're able to manage using the sustainable energy resources that they have. Countries lacking good benchmarks could fail in the process of implementing the sustainable energy resources use due to the lack of a benchmark.

social factors influencing implementation

lack of awareness from stakeholders-all stakeholders must be aware of what is happening
