I go in the rain,and more than needs,

A rope cuts both my wrists behind;

And I think,by the feels,my forehead bleeds,

For they fling,whoever has mind ,

Stones at me for my year's misdeeds.

i. Who is the speaker of the above lines? Where is he being taken to ? What is his crime ? [3]

ii. What literary device has been used in the first line of the stanza? Explain the term. What does rain

signify here? [3]

iii. Who does ‘they' refer to here? How did ‘they’ treat the speaker a year ago? [1+2]

iv. Why does the speaker say

‘I think by the feels....’? Why does his forehead bleed? What adds to the ambiguity in the poem? [3]

v. Write any two themes of the poem and explain. [4]
