I have a doubt ! How x² + 2√x - 3 = 0 is not a quadratic equation but √3x² - 2x + 1/2 = 0 is ?? I am so confused please help !! Its class 10 ch 4 Quadratic Polynomial​

x present inside a root is not considered as a polynomial.so the first one will be not a quadratic equation. but in second case root comes for 3 and √3 is a real number. So there is no problem for a real number to be as a co-efficient of x. This is what I understood from my teacher
