I have a doubt in le Chatlier's principle,

If in a reaction we change the concentration of liquid or a solid will it effect its equilibrium .??

is le chatlier's principle applicable for solids and liquids ??

So, the change in amount of our puresolid will have an effect of change inconcentration of some other reactant or product. And we will take into account the effect of increasing the amount of solid, by seeing the changein concentration of any other resulting reactant or product in our equilibriumor rate equation.

You would certainly have more HgO on the left, but the density (concentration) of the HgO does not change. Therefore, adding or removing a solidfrom a system at equilibrium has no effect on the position of equilibrium.Le Châtelier's Principle does not apply to solids.
