I have a math question find x and y by substitution may you show your work
x+3y=1
-3x-3y=15

Here is your answer! ! !

x + 3y = 1
x = -3y + 1 now put in -3x - 3y = 15


-3 ( -3y +1 ) -3y = 15
9y -3 -3y = 15
6y = 18
● y = 3


now put y = 3 in x + 3y = 1

× + 3 (3) = 1
x + 9 = 1
● x = -8
