Hey a few important rules are

Commutative Property of Addition.

a + b = b + a

Commutative Property of Multiplication.

a × b = b × a

Associative Property of Addition

(a + b) + c = a + (b + c)

Associative Property of Multiplication.

(a × b) × c = a × (b × c)

Distributive Properties of Addition Over Multiplication.

.a × (b + c) = a × b + a × c

The reciprocal of a non zero real number a is 1/a.and a × (1/a) = 1

5 is 1/5 and 5 × (1/5) = 1

The additive inverse of a is -a.

The additive inverse of a is -a + (- a) = 0

- 6 + (6) = 0

The additive identity is 0.

a + 0 = 0 + a

The multiplicative identity is 1.

a × 1 = 1 × a

-Thanks
