To become Civil Service officer he has to cross following difficulties:
He has to pass UPSC: It is one of the very difficult task as nearly 10,00,000 candidates appear for the exam, out of which about 1,000 candidates get selected after a year-long selection process. A successful candidate may opt for IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS, IDAS or other services based on their all India rank. The exam consists three difficult stages i.e. Prelims, mains and interview. The factual knowledge of candidate is checked in prelims exam. It is objective type and syllabus is vast. The main exam is descriptive type and syllabus is again vast. Conceptual knowledge, writing skill, maturity of thoughts and depth of knowledge has been checked in this exam. The last stage of exam is interview....it checks personality, honesty and intention of candidate to join civil service. Graduates from all streams and from all universities participates into exam (to get admission to PG in medicine only medical graduated are eligible, hence such type of competition is limited competition....while UPSC is real competition) and many of them are preparing for 2-5 years, it makes exam very difficult and competitive. After passing exam he has to undergo specially designed training program for two years...It again divided in four stages: Foundation course, Professional course, Departmental Training and On job training...He has to digest heavy knowledge doses in limited time and has to pass all exams during the training.Once he posted, he faces lot of responsibility, risk, public dealing, heavy workload, pressure from various sectors of society....The most difficult task he has to carry out is to balance work and life....he/she has to satisfy public and family...it's really tough task.

hlw mate ,
ur answer,
==================
I think u are interested in being a ias officer ..
anyways ur answer,
IAS is the short form of Indian Administrative Service.
It is one of the prestigious services among the 24 services like IPS, IFS etc for the which the UPSC conducts Civil Services Examination (CSE) for selecting the candidates.
An officer selected into the Indian Administrative Service gets exposure in very diverse roles like the collector, commissioner, head of public sector units, chief secretary, cabinet secretary etc.
Even though the exam to be undertaken is popularly known as the IAS exam, it is officially called UPSC . The UPSC CSE consists of 3 stages – Prelims, Mains, and Interview.
Getting into Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is not easy considering the competition involved, but not impossible for a candidate with right attitude and approach.”
hope it will work..
