I have a total of Rs300 in coins of denominations Rs1, Rs2 and Rs 5. The number of Rs2 coins is 3 times the number of Rs5 coins. The total number of coins is 160. How many coins of each denomination are with me? sum of 6 consecutive integers is -9, What are the integers?

Then Rs2 coins will be 3x and let,

number of Rs1 coins be y

Given,

4x + y = 160 ... (1)

5(x) + 2(3x) + y = 300

11x + y = 300 .... (2)

7x = 140

x = 20

Therefore,

y = 80

Thus,

Number of Rs 1 coins is 80

Number of Rs 2 coins is 60

Number of Rs 5 coins is 20

Question 2 :

Let the smallest number be x,

then,

x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) + (x + 3) + (x + 4) + (x + 5) = -9

6x + 15 = -9

6x = -24

x = -4

Therefore,

the integers are -4 , -3 , -2 , -1 , 0 , 1
