A landslide is an catastrophic event where a block of earthen mass slides downhill.
Cause significant loss of life and billions of dollars each year.

Causes:-Heavy rains,Earthquakes,Volcano eruptions,Floods,Grading,Terrain Cutting , Droughts

the unstable in the upper layer of the soil in the slops and causes landslide to occur 
there are many factor contribute in causing land slide to occur 
the major factor is geological :like heavy rain r heavy snow fall, rapid snow melt that guess the soil to lose its grip ,earthquakes and man made problems by deforesting(where tree root uphold the soil, when roots r destroyed soil erosion occurs and leads to landslide .
