I have bent over backwards trying to prevent my other half sauntering around in the buff. What does this idiomatic phrase actually mean?
1. I have been practicing lots of yoga trying to stop my back from getting too stiff.
2. I have been stretching my mind to see if my cat could dance around in the garden.
3. I have tried everything I can to stop my partner from walking around naked.
4. I have tried to stop smoking in my house many times because it is very smelly.

Option number 3.

Because bending over backwards means to either work very hard to accomplish something or help someone to your utmost capacity. However, in the given context, the former suits the best.
