I have collected coins in a piggy bank. The day I opened it I found I had 3 times as many 50 paise coins as
one rupee coins. The total amount in the piggy bank is 150. How many coins of each kind are there?

Let us assume that the number of coins of 1 rupee are x

therefore coins of 50 paisa are 3x

amount of 1 rupee coin = 1×x=100x paisa

amount of 50 paisa coins=50×3x=150 paisa

100x+150x=4500

250x=4500

x=18

hope it helps you
