The Given Inequation Is :

 - 4  \leqslant 3x - 1 &lt; 8

 - 4 + 1 \leqslant 3x &lt; 8 + 1

 - 3 \leqslant 3x &lt; 9

 \frac{ - 3}{3}  \leqslant x  &lt;  \frac{9}{3}

 - 1 \leqslant x &lt; 3

Hence the values of X which satisfy the above equation range from -1 to 3.

There would be a closed interval between -1 and x because of <_.

Range = > x [ -1 , 3 )

The solution set on the real number line is shown in the picture above.
