I want how value of k will be find.....

put the value of p in the second equation and solve the equation by just multiplying the value of p with the bracket (x²+x) .since it is given that the equation has equal roots so the discriminant will be equal to 0.
=> b²-4ac=0
then just put the value and u will get the value of k.
