History, asked by brainlylearner, 1 year ago

I have noticed while studying history, that most of the Indian rulers, be it Ashoka, Harshavardhana, Chandragupta Maurya or for that matter any other ruler, most of the time either becomes a Jain or Buddhist monk. Why is it so?

This is because great rulers often have huge wars by means of which they see the destruction of property and life and sufferings of common people. So, to compensate for the sin which they did by starting wars, they adopt peace and get converted to either a Jain or Buddhist monk.
