Let the no of 5 rs coin be x
So the no of 2 rs coin is 4x
According to question ,
5x + 8x = 117
13x = 117
X = 9

No. of rs.5 coins = 9
No. of rs.2 coins = 36

The correct answer is the number of 5 rupee coins are 9 and the number of 2 rupee coins are 36.

Given: Total amount = Rs 117.

The number of 2 rupee coins is 4 times that of 5 rupee coins.

To Find: The number of coins of each denominations.

Solution:

Let the number of 5 rupee coin = x.

The number of 2 rupee coins is 4 times that of 5 rupee coins.

Number of 2 rupee coin = 4x

Total amount = Rs 117.

(number of 5 rupee coin)5 + (number of 2 rupee coin)2 = 117

x(5) + 4x(2) = 117

5x + 8x = 117

13x = 117

x = 9

Number of 5 rupee coin = x = 9

Number of 2 rupee coin = 4x = 4*9 = 36

Hence, the number of 5 rupee coins are 9 and the number of 2 rupee coins are 36.
