Science, asked by pinakimandal53, 1 year ago

I have some doubts related to Science:
i) What is the EXACT formula for SUGAR: C_{6}H_{12}O_{6} or C_{12}H_{22}O_{11} ?
ii) If an acid reacts with a carbonate, then how can we know that what should be the products of the reaction between acid and carbonate?
iii) What is the exact formula for hydroxide: OH^{-} or (OH)^{-} ?
iv) I know that how valencies of elements are found, but how the valencies of groups are found?

These are my four current doubts related to Science. Please solve them if you know about them, otherwise no.

(I) The first formula is of Glucose and second one is of Sugar.
(3) Any hydroxide contains (OH)-1 ion
(4) Generally the valencies of all the elements of same group is same. For example group 1 elements have +1 or -7 valency while group 17 elements have -1 or +7 valency. But it all depends upon the structure of the molecule or compound.
