Actually these lines have been said by Patol Babu. He wants to know if the role has any dialogue as he is very keen to show off his acting talent. In the mean time he is a stage actor for many years before situation force him to go to Calcutta. He is a very passionate actor, in fact he is obsessed with acting. There was a time when people would buy tickets just to see him perform.

After many years, he has been offered a role in a film. He is both surprised and happy to receive this offer. He enquires about his role so that he can rehearse for it. He is told that his role is that of a pedestrian.
