Lower the perticle size higher the surface area of the reactants, higher the rate of reaction.

Answer:

As particle size decreases, the rate of reaction increases. so reaction rate is linearly dependent on particle size. Smaller reactant particles provide a greater surface area which increases the chances for particle collisions so the reaction rate increases.
